Rebecca McCarthy joined Asser Law Group, PC in April 2008 as a Case Manager. She passed the Arizona Bar Exam and is transitioning into her role as an Associate Attorney upon completing the admission process. She has spent the past year working closely with clients learning the complexity of immigration in Arizona. She focuses on all aspects of immigration law, including the very complicated area of removal defense and criminal immigration law.
Rebecca graduated from the prestigious New York Law School in 2005.
Prior to joining Asser Law Group, PC, Rebecca was part of the Managing Attorney’s Office at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City where she received a strong procedural foundation. There, she monitored pending litigation firm wide and, coordinated service and filings in various State and Federal courts as well as administrative agencies ensuring that filings were procedurally accurate. In this position she supervised a team of law clerks and ensured providing specific instructions with regard to filings, their progress and schedules.
Rebecca has a B.S. in Family Studies, from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from New York Law School.
While in law school, Rebecca participated in the Immigration and Nationality Law seminar which sparked her interest in the subject area. Additionally, after graduation and prior to moving to the Phoenix area, Rebecca audited Immigration Law night courses at New York Law School in order to refresh her knowledge of the law and become current on issues in the field. Rebecca is thrilled to be living in Phoenix and to be a continued member of the Asser Law Group, PC staff.
